Tomorrow Sophie is leaving home

GOING, GOING is a poignant short drama that explores the different ways we deal with grief. With a gentle, nuanced approach to unfolding detail, award-winning V.C.A. graduate and Moccasin‘s own Alice Foulcher crafted a film that reveals the pain of relationships frozen in time and the inescapable ties of family.

Starring Talia Zucker (Lake Mungo), Oscar Redding (Top of the Lake, Van Diemen’s Land) and John Foulcher, GOING, GOING took out major awards for Best Screenplay, Best Masters Film and Alice won Best Postgraduate Student at the V.C.A. Premiere Screenings 2009. The film went on to play at festivals in France and the U.S.A.

But don’t just take my word for it:

A perfectly executed short film… Foulcher clearly created an environment for her actors where they felt comfortable to create such three-dimensional, complicated characters… This is a very strong insightful film from a filmmaker who understands the importance of performance. A fine achievement.
